Guangzhou,China – On May 28, the Deutsch-Chinesischer Wirtschaftsrundtisch (China-Germany Economic Roundtable), co-hosted by the Ministry of Commerce of China, the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy of Germany, and the People’s Government of Guangdong Province, was held in Guangzhou. Representatives from the economic sectors and local governments of both countries gathered for in-depth discussions on two-way investment, industrial innovation and open cooperation. Jing Guangjun, Chairman of Guangzhou Industrial Investment Holdings Group Co., Ltd. (GIIHG), was invited to attend the event and delivered a speech at the Invest in Germany Roundtable.
Germany is China’s largest trading and investment partner in Europe. As a pioneer in reform and opening-up, Guangdong has seen deepening and solidifying economic and trade cooperation with Germany. During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, the total trade volume between Guangdong and Germany rose from 217 billion yuan to 265.5 billion yuan, with an average annual growth rate of 6.4%. Its share in China’s total trade with Germany increased from 14.3% to 17.6%. Against this sound cooperation environment, GIIHG – a leading advanced manufacturing enterprise – aims to build itself into a world-class multinational operator of advanced manufacturing industrial ecosystems. The Group has long been deeply engaged in the German market and actively pursued investment in Germany.
GIIHG has strategically acquired German companies including KOCH and SMART, and established long-term partnerships with industrial giants such as Siemens, Bosch and Herrenknecht, with an accumulated cooperation scale of nearly 100 billion yuan. Leveraging its European Office in Frankfurt, GIIHG has built a communication bridge for China-Germany cooperation and become an active participant and beneficiary of China-Germany economic and trade cooperation.
At the Invest in Germany Roundtable, Katherina Reiche, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy of Germany, led a German economic delegation to exchange views with representatives of 10 Guangdong-based enterprises. Minister Reiche elaborated on Germany’s investment environment and industrial development policies and sent a clear positive signal on deepening bilateral industrial cooperation. She stated that Germany remains committed to free trade and attaches great importance to economic and trade relations with China. Germany highly recognizes the development achievements and application scenarios of smart manufacturing in Guangzhou, welcomes Chinese enterprises to invest and develop in Germany, and looks forward to jointly expanding new cooperation space with the Chinese side.
“With Germany as our core strategic anchor, GIIHG will focus on deepening local operations, building two-way platforms and advancing cutting-edge industrial cooperation,” said Jing Guangjun, sharing the Group’s operation and Germany cooperation achievements. He noted that GIIHG fully focuses on three core sectors: advanced manufacturing, modern industrial services and industrial investment. Adhering to the principle of “simultaneous development of industry and commerce, integrated development of manufacturing and services”, the Group’s strategic direction is highly aligned with Germany’s Industry 4.0 and green transformation.
Going forward, GIIHG will continue to serve as a pathfinder and bridge builder in China-Germany industrial investment. The Group positions Europe as a hub for technology integration and a highland for two-way industrial empowerment in its internationalization strategy. It will deepen collaboration with German enterprises and create new opportunities by focusing on emerging sectors such as industrial intelligence and embodied intelligence.
